Community Events 2011-2012Detroit Waldorf School’s Book Club: Join us on the fourth Wednesday of each month for a discussion centered on the book Simplicity Parenting. The group will meet in the North Star Shop from 8:30am - 9:30am. Copies of the book will be for sale as well in the shop. Please call the school to find out which chapter will be discussed.
Detroit Waldorf School’s It Takes a Village Parent Education Series Join us for: “Waldorf 101” Wednesday, March 7th @ 6pm “Waldorf 101” is an informative lecture designed to introduce Metro Detroit parents to Waldorf education, one of the world’s fastest-growing educational models. Conducted by Carol Triggiano of the Chicago Waldorf School, “Waldorf 101” is a free seminar on the Waldorf approach to child development and education, an innovative methodology that integrates comprehensive, age-appropriate academics with rich artistic experiences and practical work. Triggiano will provide an overview of the Waldorf curriculum from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, demonstrating how Waldorf’s developmental approach prepares a child to meet the future with confidence, self-direction and purpose and awakens in students a lifelong love of learning.
